Klaudia Romero, Director & Founder, E-RYT
Klaudia's curiosity and enthusiasm toward ancient arts and philosophies led her to the wonderful healing art of yoga which elevated her life in every level. Even though she received a degree in Economics she felt yoga was her path. In order to deepen her understanding of the yoga she pursued her yoga teacher certification from the Himalayan yoga and Meditation Center in 2005. As she became more aware, her drive to introduce people to the joy and peace that yoga can bring into their lives increased. Exploring different approches, and studying with numerous Master Teachers such as Gabriel Halpern, Rama Birch, Ronda Gordon, Shirley Walters, and the Dalai Lama; gives her the understanding of healing the mind, body and spirit. She holds a Prenatal Yoga and also a Power Pilates certificate. She has been working with doctors as a yoga therapist with patients with severe injuries to enhance medical care, and experience the tremendous healing power of yoga. In 2009 it was a natural step for her to open Reflections Yoga Center with the intention of offering a wide range of high quality instruction rooted in the ancient traditions of yoga for all ages and all bodies. She keeps studying different healing arts such as the science of Reiki and become a Reiki healer, she also completed a 100 hour Vipassana Meditation course Klaudia is dedicated to share the inspiration, healing and happiness she derives from her own yoga journey. She encourages her students to practice with awareness within each pose and carry it out in their daily life.
Karen Nielsen, Master Teacher, E-RYT 500
Karen has been sharing yoga with the southern suburbs teaching over the past 23 years. In 1986 she was certified as a Master Teacher of Hatha Yoga by the Temple of Kriya Yoga, Chicago. From that point forward it has been her intention to assist people in bringing yoga to life. For many years Karen integrated yoga with her work as a massage therapist and body-worker. She is E-RYT 500 hr. with the Yoga Alliance. In 2002 Karen expanded her interest in yoga as therapy earning 900 hr. certification in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. Karen is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. In 2007 Karen began teaching Meditation and Mindful living for Ingalls family Care in Flossmoor. In March of 2008 Karen was the featured teacher in the Yoga Chicago Magazine. She teaches daily and is devoted to the practice of clarifying the mind and opening the heart. Her experience leads to instruction that is safe, sensible, humorous and enlightening.
Dr. Indu Arora, Master Teacher, E-RYT 500 T-500
Dr. Indu Arora is a true Yogini by Karma. She is highly accomplished international speaker, Master Yoga Teacher & Yoga Therapist, very successful Ayurveda Consular, Healer and Author, with more than 30,000 hours/ 13 years of teaching experience. She is an Academic Board member of the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of Northern America (AAPNA), Board member of the World Movement of Yoga and International Advisor to World Yoga Council. She has a Doctorate in Alternate Medicine (MD) and a Medicinal Herbalism degree. Awarded with Yoga Shiromani and Yoga Bhaskar, she has a Grand Parenting E-500 T-500 from Yoga Alliance and is registered Yoga Therapist. Dr. Arora is pursuing her PhD. in Metaphysical Sciences from University of Metaphysical Sciences, CA. She writes regularly for YOGA Chicago and Tathaastu magazine. She is awarded with the titles "Sage Award for Excellence in Teaching Meditation", "Gem of India" and "Ray of Hope" for Yoga, Meditation, Wellness and Holistic Healing. She travels globally for International Yoga Therapy Teacher Training programs, Yoga and Ayurveda Retreats, Conferences etc. Her philosophy is "Nothing has the greatest Power to heal, But SELF".
Rich Logan, Master Teacher
Rich Logan has traveled the world studying and teaching massage therapy and Yoga. He teaches yoga anatomy for several teacher trainings in Chicagoland as well as workshops in the surrounding area. Rich has also been a guest speaker on Western massage techniques at the Auyurvedic College in Mysore, India. He has also taught adjustment and anatomy oriented yoga courses for yoga teachers in Hamburg, Germany. He has presented at Wanderlust Chicago, teaching well over a thousand students in Grant Park. He was also a featured yoga presenter at Bhakti fest Midwest in Madison. He also has been performing with Kirtan groups in Chicago since 2002 as a guitarist and fronts his own group with a revolving band of world-class musicians called Akoustikirtan. A serious student of Yoga since 1998, teaching since 2001 and a meditation practitioner since 1978, Rich incorporates his knowledge of anatomy and physiology with a unique understanding of spirituality in the modern world. Rich has studied at the prestigious Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Madras, India with TKV Desikachar among others presiding, The Atma Vikasa in Mysore with Yogacharya V. Venkatesha and wife Acharye Hema, The Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Center near Dharamsala with Sharat Arora. Rich's significant teachers have been, Kim Shwartz, Tias Little, Aadil Palkhivala, Gabriel Halpern and Anna Forrest. Rich has an eclectic teaching style focusing on the seeming basics to allow for a deeper practice by sitting in some poses for extended periods and moving through other postures smoothly with deliberation attention on placing ourselves in the pose as opposed to habitual patterns and gravity running the show. A mindful practice is focused on, bringing us to the edge of ‘experience’ to ‘witness’ the moment unfold and realize it is us who is the unfolding.
Catherine Ashton, E-RYT
Catherine grew up in California & began practicing yoga 27 years ago while pregnant. A couple of years later she became certified as an instructor at a university based program while a graduate student in Clinical Psychology. Since that time, her studies of psychology, spirituality, fitness, including running, and yoga have been woven together in both her personal and professional lives. Throughout the years Catherine has studied with a variety of teachers including through the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, Sara Strothers, Allison Haugh, Desiree Rumbaugh, Amy Ippoliti, Seane Corn, Dharma Mitra & Maty Ezraty. Catherine’s experience with Yoga is that it has the ability to touch our bodies & spirit in a way & depth that words may never reach, gently releasing sometimes stuck energies, wounds and trauma while uncovering our own natural healing. Catherine recognizes and has personally experienced the beauty, strength and healing of the practice in her own life as well as professional therapist supporting yoga as an integral component of mind - body therapies. Catherine is committed to the teachings and traditions of Yoga in her own life & believes that the practice makes us kinder, gentler and more loving people who aspire to bring peace to the world around us.
