Class Descriptions/Styles

Back Care (series)

If you suffer from back pain, sciatica or a herniated disc and are tired of the pain controlling your life, then learn how to take care of your back by reducing or eliminating your back pain and improving your posture. This series focuses on therapeutic yoga exercises to stretch and loosen the back, lengthen the spine and build strong muscles to support it.

Beginners

This class is appropriate for those students who have some knowledge of yoga. This class is the beginning of the process to master the fundamentals and principles of the yoga poses while deepening the student's understanding of yoga. Appropriate for all levels.

Beginners Flow

This class takes a traditional Vinyasa approach and breaks it down into its essential components. Students will work at differentiated levels to string several poses together to create a breath to breath flow.

Blissful Yoga

This class focuses on increasing flexibility, strength, and balance in any yoga pose finding the inner strength for peace and happiness. You will also learn breathing techniques and will be guided through relaxation. This Yoga class is suitable for all levels and ages, and it helps reduce the stress and tension caused by daily life.

Candlelight

The soothing atmosphere of candles and soft music will help you unwind from the hassles of the day. This slow-movement class incorporates gentle stretches and restorative poses to enhance flexibility and release tension.

Community Class

A basic yoga class open to the entire community, taught by Reflections' teachers in training, offered the first and third Tuesday of every month FREE of charge. Donations to the charity of the teacher's choice will be welcome.

Detox Flow

This class will be a vinyasa flow, focusing on cleansing the mind, body, and soul. Expect a fun and invigorating class that will leave the body feeling refreshed, the mind renewed, and the soul revived.

Fusion Flow

A funky take on the traditional Vinyasa Class. Students of all levels will be able move and dance through this upbeat flow that welcomes the weekend into our minds and bodies. This is a faster paced class incorporating electronic music, rock and hip hop from every era.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga is suitable for anybody looking for an easy, gentle form of yoga with lots of stretches to awaken the body and mind working toward more range of motion, strength and balance. It is accessible for seniors and people with physical challenges or injuries as well.

Hatha Yoga

This class focuses on increasing flexibility, strength, and balance in any yoga pose finding the inner strength for peace and happiness. You will also learn breathing techniques and will be guided through relaxation. Hatha Yoga is suitable for all levels and ages, and it helps reduce the stress and tension caused by daily life.

Hot Yoga

Turn up the heat on your practice with a Vinyasa Flow in a hot environment. This is a vigorous style of yoga, which links movement with breath from pose to pose, creating internal heat to purify the body and mind. Bring your mat and towel to class.

Intro to Yoga

We offer an Introduction to Yoga 5-week course that we recommend to anybody who is new to yoga or has limited yoga experience. This class is also suitable for those who have not practiced  yoga for a long time. It is a great way to ease into a yoga practice by learning basic postures and the power of breath.

Little Yogis

Build self-esteem, develop character and help children become more aware of their bodies' abilities. This class will focus on basic yoga poses, breathing and relaxation activities, cooperative games and having fun! Ages 5 to 10.

Meditation (free)

The yoga path outlines the practical means of achieving the state of self-realization and control of the mind. A significant portion of this path is dedicated to the preparation and practice of meditation: Pratyahara, Dharana and Dhyana. Meditation classes at Reflections has a Vipassana influence among others. The class will include silent group sitting and guided discussions on tools for one to free herself/himself from misery and to enjoy real happiness, real peace, real harmony. Join us through a journey of self discovery. Previous experience in meditation is not necessary for this class; it is open to all levels.

Mindful Yoga

This class is intended to introduce its participants to the full scope of traditional yoga practice. Postures are practiced first to limber and relax the body and open the energy centers. Breathing exercises come next to awaken and balance the energy, and finally a meditation practice integrates the energy, bringing clarity to the body/mind. This 90 minute class includes 45 minutes of postures, 5 minutes of pranayama (breathing exercises) and 20 minutes of meditation. The postures and meditation are each followed by a 10 minute period of relaxation. The class is structured for beginners, but all are welcome.

Open Yoga

This class is appropriate for all levels of yoga students. Focuses on increasing flexibility, strength, and balance in any yoga pose finding the inner strength for peace and happiness. You will also learn breathing techniques and will be guided through relaxation. This Yoga class is suitable for all levels and ages, and it helps reduce the stress and tension caused by daily life.

Pilates/Yoga blend

Pilates helps Yoga, Yoga helps Pilates! In this class you will mix pilates and yoga to develop core strength, tone muscles, increase flexibility, and help reduce stress. If you're looking to tone your overall body, this class really works at building strength through the torso. Bringing mobility and clarity to the body and mind

Pilates/Yoga Beginners

Pilates helps Yoga, Yoga helps Pilates! In this class you will mix pilates and yoga to develop core strength, tone muscles, increase flexibility, and help reduce stress. If you're looking to tone your overall body, this class really works at building strength through the torso. Bringing mobility and clarity to the body and mind

Prenatal Yoga

This is a non-strenuous, gentle class which will increase the flexibility of the muscles involved in childbirth, and introduce breathing and relaxation techniques to relieve pain (useful at delivery) instructed by a certified prenatal yoga teacher. A great way to stay in shape during pregnancy and connect with other moms-to-be.

Restorative Yoga

This class incorporates slow and mindful movements that lead you into a relaxed and peaceful state of being. Poses are held for at least three minutes and are supported with props. This is a slow, meditative, calm practice, ending with a short meditation. This is a beginner friendly class!

Slow Flow

Slow Flow is a unique blend of restorative and dynamic postures linked together by way of breath. This moderate practice emphasizes relaxation and internal focus, appropriate for all levels, counterbalances “go, go, go” lifestyle and is accompanied by quiet, soothing music.

Stress Relief Yoga

Come join us for a yoga class that will release stress from your day through yoga poses and flows, while building strength and flexibility. We will focus on stretching, breathing, and relaxation techniques that will leave you with a peaceful state of mind.

Sunrise Yoga

Embody grace in movement while awakening to a new day of possibilities. This class will offer meditation, sun salutations and an energizing sequence of asanas that will connect breath to movement and anchor us into the present moment.

Tai Chi

Is Tai Chi is a branch of Yoga? Tai Chi is a practice that began being practiced after a traveling monk brought practices similar to Yoga to China. While Yoga focuses more on the Physical elongation of energy channels to facilitate growth, Tai Chi is a gentler way of opening the same channels. Come and experience the sensation of healing energy produced and circulated by practicing Tai Chi. Learn how regular Tai Chi can improve your health, reduce stress, and improve your longevity.

The classes focus on a certain health or body part issue to promote healing by incorporating yoga postures, breathing techniques and meditation. It is very beneficial for people with limited mobility or prior injury.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement”. This is a vigorous style of yoga, it links movement from pose to pose with breath, creating internal heat, which helps to purify the body and mind. This class is based on standing sequences which will vary in poses from class to class.

Yin Yoga

Set at a warm 80 degrees, yin yoga is a restorative class where gentle poses are held for a longer period of time in order to help stretch and lengthen the deep connective tissue in the body and improve joint flexibility. This class targets the ligaments and joints and is complemented by soothing music, candlelight, and a stress-free environment.

Yoga for Athletes

Yoga works well as a powerful compliment to other athletic training. The benefits of yoga are many, no matter what your athletic backgroung. we explore a sequence of energetic yoga poses to warm the body before a workout in order to stretch and prevent injuries. Additionally, we will use restorative poses to restore full range of motion to the body post-activity. We practice yoga breathing techniques (pranayama) to increase your stamina during rigorous activity.

Yoga Calmness

This yoga class is about finding inner peace and calmness through yoga poses, breathing techniques and meditation. Bringing the attention inwards to your body and mind can balance and center your thought process to help achieve that inner peace you may be seeking. This yoga class is offered to anyone looking to free themselves of some mental stress and explore ones inner calmness.

Yoga for EveryBody

This class focuses on increasing flexibility, strength, and balance through fundamental poses, both seated and standing. You will also learn breathing techniques and will be guided through relaxation. This Hatha Yoga class is suitable for all levels, all ages, and it is friendly to different body types.
