Chair Yoga classes

Chair Yoga can offer the benefits of regular yoga class. In form it may not look as demanding as the posture done classically, but it might be accomplishing the same benefit based upon condition of the person doing the posture. We have to remember that we are all different. There is no one yoga practice to fit all people at every age. But there is some kind of yoga for everyone and every body.

Chair Yoga is a gentle, non-traditional form of Yoga that reduces strain on limbs and joints. Participants can be guided through postures, breath work, and even meditation. Postures may be done in the chair and/or standing with the support of the chair. This practice promotes stability and flexibility at the level of the body, self-awareness and clarity at the level of the mind, a sense of calm and balance at the level of the emotions, and overall wellness.

Regular Chair Yoga practice benefits the body and mind. It benefits every body part because it blood circulation, improves feet, toes, hand and finger movements, improves balance, stimulates the elimination of body toxins, improves posture, flexibility and mobility, muscle and bone health.

It benefits the mind, in a sense that it provides certain independence, and increases self-esteem in the life and person of those who practice it. The connection that we make in Yoga of body, mind and spirit, have full meaning in Chair Yoga practice as well.

The same benefits that are received in a regular yoga class are fully available in chair yoga as well. Although the form of the poses and the bodies of the students may be different, the transformational effects and benefits remain the same.
